My #48 is Dances With Wolves, the first of three movies on my list from the 90s. Kevin Costner has done more than just about anyone in the last 25 years to keep alive the Western genre, and Dances With Wolves is his masterwork. The music, editing, and especially cinematography are masterful in this movie, which was adapted by the author of the original book. It's still hard to believe this is Costner's directorial debut.
