The Wii U is in a bit of a rough patch, I don't really know who it's marketed towards. It has a very complex controller, but it launched missing a lot of online features, and no first party games for the core. I have some predictions for it though.
Like the 3DS, the low sales will have Nintendo freaking, they will start production on a whole bunch of Mario, rush these games to market, and do a severe price cut. Problem is, I don't think this will do that much this time, and Nintendo will finally realize that they need to actually make games for core gamers.
