Is it really the wiiU who performed poorly? Or are we just starting to see the beginning of the end of dedicated gaming consoles?

Nope. Next-gen consoles will sell fine. Wii U is marketed at the same people that buy iPads or iPods for their kids on Christmas. That is why its selling poorly. PS4/720 wont' have that problem as long as they continue to get the Call of Duties, Battlefields and Grand Theft Autos.
