When I complained about casual gamers making the Wii into a casuals' console, I was told there would still be the big Nintendo first party games (which was true) and that these casuals would turn into gamers over time (the bulk of them did not as apparent by the sales of Zelda and other core games and the mild launch of the Wii U). |
I disagree. Facts are the games industry is larger than ever and more people are playing than ever before. Wii absolutely turned non-gamers into gamers. Just not into 'core' gamers. Wii's audience is still playing games from Just Dance 4 to Angry Birds. Tablets/Smartphones and to a much lesser extent Kinect, still enjoy, and thrive on, the the fruits of Nintendo's efforts.
