A lot of people predicted that the PS3 would fail and not even get where it is now because of the early mistakes that Sony did but guess what - it got out of it.

So no , there's no way to actually predict when a system is gonna fail nor is there any way to tell when a system is gonna get cancelled out until the developer/producer announces it, any prediction now is just too pre-mature. Maybe in its 3rd or 4th year at the earliest if its still in production but not in its first or second year. It is also the reason why I never buy game systems in its first two years.

Also you dont get brownie points when riding a bandwagon, just saying.

I truly could care less about brownie points. Besides, I wasn't riding the bandwagon, because I agree with the people who say that. After 2 years of a system being on the market we should be able to (somewhat) predict it's outcome. It's not like we all have crystal balls, but we can still make a pretty good prediction. (And some people can even do it in the first year of a systems lifetime.)

After 4 years of a system being on the market it would barely be a prediction anymore.
