3. My error then, still there is an inconsistency which one can't definitively certain. By the way, the Gallup poll I posted is the most recent one (5 days old.) It seems as if thing shave subsided a bit since the shooting (as they usually do.)
Regardless, it seems clear to me that Americans are split on this matter, with the increase in a "want" for gun-control coming from Democrats. Meanwhile, Republicans and Independents haven't changed much. It seems illogical to me to assume that more than 50% (those who aren't Democrats) of this country don't care about the matter at hand, of course they're not playing partisian politics here as they're remaining consistent.
