they could have bundled it right from release and GT5 still would have sold more than it.

Well thats just wrong.GT5 will pass Halo Reach this year apparantly. If those 1.5 digital bundles were retail, that would have added another 2 years, as I dont think GT5 can keep up this pace forever.

GT5 will keep selling until the next GT game and thats probably years away yet. nobody knows where GT5 sales will end but i'd say anywhere from 11-13m.

Makes sense since usually theres 2 full GT games every gen. This ones legs are thereby forced to be longer.

hoepfully they go back to 2 games next generation. just one wasnt enough and i PERSONALLY was disappointed with GT5 but i heard they fixed alot of the things i disliked with patches. regardless, GT is a monster franchise.
