I don't know why I haven't tried out Lost Odyssey yet. It's like the 360's ultimate JRPG. I've played the more elaborate exclusives like Magna Carta 2, but not the poster child for the genre on the console. The art style looks a bit different but at least the gameplay seems solid turn based. I think I should give it a try. Also can anyone explain to me why Zelda is considered an RPG? It seems more like an action/adventure/puzzle solving. It has no clear leveling up system or a classic RPG style battle system. Yeah you get more health and newer equipment, but still doesn't seem enough to classify it as RPG. |
If Zelda is an RPG its classified as an Action RPG. You have your inventory to sort through, collect and control all the aspects you need to survive in the world you're in. Zelda is mostly an action adventure game, really. Its very light on the RPG and very strong on exploration, action and puzzle solving. It's RPG light at best, so if you want my opinion, then no, its RPG elements are not strong enough to classify it as an RPG.
