Nintendo isn't, but Gamecube certainly was. The console was shaped like a Purple Lunchbox and had a Fisher Price controller. Plus the flagship games were a weekday afternoon cartoon version of Celda, and Mario with a squirt-gun.

Gamecube was PS2 for kids, that's exactly how it was presented and marketed. Why else would they design it to look like a purple lunch box with a Fisher Price-like controller? Truth is, everyone knew the Gamecube was for kids, that's why only kids bought it. The fact that those kids grew up afterwards is simple biology.
Arguing that Gamecube wasn't for kids is like arguing that My Little Pony isn't for kids.
