I think some of the arguments on here are a bit dumb. Just because the Gamecube had a purple color is irrelevant. It launched in a bunch of other colors and to be honest, I think it was the second most appealing out of its generation. I find no problem with the Gamecube controllers ergonomics. It fit perfectly in the hand, plus those awesome triggers that fit like a glove on your finger.The real problem with the Gamecube was, it launched to long after the PS2 and it wasn't a DVD player.
I think if Nintendo made a Gamecube 2, they should make it look more futuristic and keep the controller just add in the modern stuff(regular,a,b,x,y, clickable full size analog sticks, 2 bumpers, analog triggers but keep the shape of the ones on the gamecube). I don't think that it would be owned like it did with the PS2 because the PS brand isn't as strong as it was 7-9 years ago.
