It's overrated imo. The gameplays fun, you story's crap, you play as a whiny fratboy with reality television kids for his friends, and the soundtracks okay except for really annoying innapproprate dubstep parts.
However if you don't care about annoying characters, it's a pretty good to a great games. But it's also way too easy, compared to halo, crysis, killzone it's a cakewalk even in the hardest difficulty. This was my biggest gripe.
It's really open and has a lot of open stuff you can do like gliding etc.
If difficulty and the story don't bother you, then it's a great game. However those 2 did bother me, so to me it's not. Merely good and overrated.
