Don't know what to make of this way of thinking.  What were you or any of us contributing to the economy as children. Unless you are advocating early employment for children I don't know how they could "contribute anything". I was always under the impression that childhood was the time to study and make ourselves ready to contribute as adults but it sounds like you may have a different perspective.
