SNES, N64, GameCube, and DS all got price cuts within the first year from North American launch as I recall. 

GameCube was down to $99.99 within about 2 years I believe. 

Gamecube would have been the only system I would have had the possibility to remember because all the other ones I would have been way to young for. But I basically skipped that generation and don't remember anything from it
