The only reason the PS2's legs were so good is because it was enormously popular and it made financial sense for Sony to continue to support it after the next-gen had started. Times have changed since then. The PS3 is nowhere near the popularity of the PS2 and its post-gen legs will be significantly shorter. |
Sony will always support their consoles even after they introduce their next generation ones. They have said countless times about how the PS3 will have a 10 year life cycle.
