No - I'm not losing it, as I already lost it a decade ago. However, the DS and Wii were delightful exeptions with interesting games.
Too bad the third party support (if you can call it support, as most of the 3rd party ranged from insulting to moderate, just like on other consoles) weren't there anymore when Nintendo started shifting focus to 3DS and Wii U.
Maybe not all hope is lost; there are some interesting games either coming for Wii U or already there, that could get me to buy Wii U (as soon as there's white premium model available). And besides, Nintendo already found a way to sell games and consoles to people like me, so when the sales start lagging behind, Nintendo will release games that will get attention. If Iwata can't make the Nintendo devs to do it - the board will find someone who can.
