This projection thing in all honestly is pretty durn cool. But can be considered very disruptive in a Japanese apartment. I think if microsoft wants to succeed in Japan, they should make this kinect/projection thing completely optional.

I live in Hong Kong,i can bet my home smaller than 80% Japanese family
And this thing can even play in your small bedroom,it has nothing to do with your room size,unless your small rom have a 50inch TV
And if your family sit on the floor in the living room,do you think it just this tech's problem?you may even can't play PS3 or 360 if your family don't want you play any games at that time.

I'm sure it is ABLE to play in a smaller room, I'm just commenting on the lack of mass market appeal to the average Japanese consumer.

You're in the US, telling someone from China, who lives in an apartment in Hong Kong, how this won't sell well in Japan.
I think D-Joe may actually be closer to and have a better understanding of the situation than you do in the US.
Factually, 60% of Japanese live in single-family detached homes. So, no where near the majority of people live in apartments. Not to mention, the average size of an apartment in Japan is over 1,000 sqft. While one room mansions (110 sqft) are available, they aren't the norm but rather the exception. Most apartments are 650 sqft or larger.
So, from your sheltered, ill-informed bedroom in suburbia, what else would you like to educate people on?

Lived for Japan for a year, I'm Korean, both countries have a lot of apartments. Yeah I looked it up, there really isn't a majority living in apartments so you're right about that, but from my experience, the homes are a lot smaller than you might think.
