I've never heard of this "sequel" until now. But damn that sucks its not on WiiU. Being that platinum games is ok with Nintendo, this surely is due to where it was in dev and when WiiU released. Just didn't work out.

Ah well, MadWorld was a fun game, I'd buy this if it were about $30.

It is 30 dollars and it even has returning cast from Madworld and combat just like Madworld I honestly don't know what videos you watched, I even got bonuses for knocking a guy into a jet engine.  And it's not a continuation of the Madworld story which is likely why the name change happened but it's the same characters doing the same things they... uhm... do... so it's the next game in the series in my eyes, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.  I do miss the announcers though, but the soundtrack is just as sick as Madworld.

Its not black and white

its not super bloody

it didn't look as funny and chaotic

and so on

looked like a open world fighter game with some similar characters.

I had a full response to all of this but I lost it because of my internet bugging out... anyway the changes were for obvious reasons, like the small fanbase and little ability to reach a bigger market continuing that route.  Even then the old style is referenced with the 3 main colors being the main story line branches, Black side, White side, and Red side.  Combat is mostly the same, just less grab>throw>instadeath for most enemies, as a result things are a tad more balanced.  Still has a lot of humor but they did go with a more heavy handed story.  And there is a lot of gore so I'm not sure what to make of the not super bloody... I guess it lacks the splatter on the ground... while making up for it with punching a man into a pile of fleashy meat...

Returning from MadWorld

An agent of the Chaser Guild who wields Gator Tooth, a retractable double chainsaw on his mechanical arm. In Milvallen, Jeannie asks him to save her father. A bounty hunter and a cocksure brawler at heart who delivers combat swagger lines with his "Super Sexy Fists of Fire".[6][7]
  • Mathilda - Voiced by: Mari Malta (Japanese), Masasa Moyo (English)
The Blacker Baron's assistant, who wields Iron Maiden, a spiked club.[6]
  • Big Bull - Voiced by: Kenichiro Matsuda (Japanese), Rick D. Wasserman (English)
Previously seen as Big Bull Crocker. A cybrid (cyborg, a robot with a human brain) with a large bull-like body and the self-proclaimed King of Altambra, who wields the Jet Hammer. Four years ago, he suffered a great injury, so he got rid of his body and moved his brain into a robot.[8] Hong Long's clan member of the Crimson Dragons who uses two fiery bladed fans, Yanlong. Previously seen as Garuda. :Durga's partner and a transforming Jet-Plane mech that has flight capabilities, spinning attacks, and uses the Tornado Drill weapons to skewer enemies and is similar to Gargoyle, mass-produced and transformed jet-plane ones. His ingame bio claims he has the memories of Durga's once-living partner.[9]
