I like it.

I think its very easy on the eyes, but there are definite areas to improve.

1. The channel layout is awesome and I'm glad they kept it.
2. The way to log in and out of users is simple and straight forward. I like.
3. The access to any individual app is very nice and obvious.
4. The music and integration with Miiverse on the home screen is superb.
5. The usage of differentiated music and images on the gamepad vs TV is fantastic.

A. The design to have EVERYTHING as a web service was a bad idea. Things like settings and apps that are solely within the console, should be quicker. Its not an issue to wait 5-10 seconds for miiverse/browser/etc to load, but it should NEVER take 15-20seconds for console settings or friends list to load or to return to the home screen.
B. Friends List and Miiverse should be one in the same. Having them separate and then working differently is simply overly complicated and a poor implementation.
C. If I hit "home" on the controller, it should always do the same thing. Currently it always opens up the mini-menu on the gamepad (that is great!) but depending on the app I'm in, it will either go to the home page on the full console or stay in the app I was in. This is stupid. It should only return to the full WiiU home if I click the "Close App" button in the gamepad's mini-menu when pressing home. I shouldn't have to re-enter miiverse, browser, store, and so on if I chose to hit the home button to see why my gamepad's light blinked.

The good news is, all of WiiU's minor UI issues will surely be rectified through updates as they optimize the overall system and OS in addition as listening to user feedback.
