I think Sony and MS are both better off releasing in 2014, yet recent news has me thinking they might make it to 2013. Or maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part now as originally I was not ready for Next Gen to be here yet and now with the flood of rumors I kinda really want them.
Anyway. PS4 and NextBox will both be far and beyond what WiiU is currently showing, yet odds are PS4 will be slightly less powerful than MS's console cuz it means they can go cheaper. PS1 and PS2 were both stronger than the weakest, but not the strongest in hardware, PURE DOMINATION. People will settle for cost and quality and being in the middle gives you that.
if anything I think Sony will take the MS route, make the standard console cheap but kill you in peripheral pricing (MS sold 360 at low price yet neglected to mention you would be buying single or rechargable battery packs for $50, memory cards and or had drives for ridonc amounts, and Live membership to play online which in essense made 360 just as much as PS3 but consumers are too dumb to see this). If they do this they will be fine as far as competition goes.
i am still wondering how this "Visor" thing fits into it all, if even true that is. If they sell it separately can they really get it to sell well enough to support the peripheral? Maybe if they Advertise it right.....but this is Sony we are talking about. MS proved that you can sell an almost totally useless control peripheral that no one really needs or wants to ppl if you market it well enough (Sorry but the Kinect is a total joke in my eyes, don't get me wrong Move is too but the Kinect is a glorified voice recognition/Netflix controller).
