If It's anything like Wal-Mart we had a lot of canceled pre-orders because of re-sellers who were hoping it would sell for 2x the amount on eBay. I don't think 180,000 people were looking into re-selling but I can bet at least half of them would. The re-seller/fleabay market is pretty big in the US.
To credit Nintendo they did a helluva job knowing the exact demand for the Wii U because the shelves are full. I hope to God this is the same when the PS4/720 are out so companies don't let the flippers beat them again.
It's just that simple.
