I think it's my lack of English knowledge but I really think the PS3 has been the dominant console of this gen's latter years.

It is the best selling console in the last two years.

The term dominance is a bit strong for a console that sells only marginally better than the Xbox 360.

The Wii in 2007 and 2008, not only outsold both PS3 and X360 but it sold more than both of them together. That's dominance.

In 2011, the PS3 outsold X360 by 300k and in 2012 by 1.4m. That's edging out a win.
