Next Sonic has a project name of "Sonic Propel"(PS360, Wii U, 3DS). Take with a grain of salt.

This sounds too good to possibly be true. I feel like they keep making Sonic games faster and more like roller coasters with intermittent platforming; the idea of them slowing him down to make it more platform-ish like the original 2D sonic titles has me skeptical.
