I think a new Pokemon game for 3DS could really boost sales in Europe and America. Pokemon is the only franchise besides Mario that will really move units in those two regions.
In Japan, they will have a record setting quarter when MH4 launches. Getting MH was the smartest move Nintendo has made recently.
As far as the Wii U goes, we need to give it time. It really doesn't have many games going for it right now, and it's expensive. I think next holiday will be much better for it. Excitement from E3+bigger library+potential price cut and they should have a decent if not great holiday.
From a gamer point of view, I think Iwata should be fired. I have been left out in the cold for a while now, and I own every Nintendo console. That doesn't seem right to me, and Nintendo is on the verge of losing me entirely. I own a 3DS XL and a Wii U, and I am quite unhappy with both.
