Iwata's going to be gone sometime this year, Nintendo shares have been falling for a long time, the Wii was abandoned too quickly, the 3DS and Wii U have both had soft launches. Massive 3DS price cut in the first year and Nintendo losing money on Wii Us sold. These are all things that are uncharacteristic for Nintendo, especially after having the most successful console of this past generation and the most successful hand held ever.

Edit: They would never force Miyamoto out, the only way he'd leave is retiring by choice.

The massive 3DS price cut has caused the handheld to sell nearly 30 million after a year and 8 months, I don't see why you think that is a mistake. Without a price cut, it is possible the 3DS might be almost doing as poorly as Vita. Also, before Iwata, Nintendo was not a very successful company. They had Gameboy, GBA, and NES. Nintendo had essentially been on a 15 year decline until Iwata took the reigns, and then the company profited more than the rest of the industry combined for several years.

Of course the price cut increased sales, I'm saying it was a mistake to release the 3DS at that price and they had to do a quick price cut to save it. The 3DS was also sold at a loss for about a year because of that price cut which is unusual for Nintendo to sell hardware at a loss.
