Sony and MS are likely to end the traditional hardware cycle after this generation, moving onto the streaming of content. That has been said for years now. Sony is clearly on the verge of making major announcements related to this.

Nintendo definetly doesn't understand the meaning of "stream" nor have they even been a player in the online community until about 2 months ago. Nintendo will become (has become) the one company that's constantly behind the times, they are clearly that company already in terms of hardware specs and software support. So it's easy to predict that nintendo will be the only major console manufacturer, still manufacturing consoles while Sony and MS have moved on and evolved. It looks to be the case.

We have no idea what Apple/Google/Steam/Nvidia have planned for the future of gaming. It seems like alot of companies are looking at the "Old Guard" (Sony/MS/nintendo) and realizing that the time for change is now. Streaming on Android/iOs is the future. Get used to it.
