That's ridiculous, that's over 13 million in 2 years. I don't think any home console has EVER done that in Japan. I'm not even sure any handheld has ever done that! Given the 3DS is closing in on 10 mil as it's approaching its 2-year anniversary.
You have to adjust your expectations, and your definition of "great," because what you're saying is complete nonsense. You might as well say the Wii U has to sell a kajillion units in its first 2 years to be doing "great," because 13 mil in Japan in 2 years is not real.
