Well I think it is safe to say that Sony fans are still resentful about Insomniac making the transition from a exclusive developer to a third party developer. Anyway I think a lot of you are just being petty. This relationship was Sony's to lose, and apparently that is exactly what they did. Instead of criticizing Insomniac for doing what was best for them. You should be venting your frustrations at Sony. For losing you a really good exclusive developer.
That said I do think that Fuse is going to perform poorly in the marketplace, but I doubt it would have performed any better if it were another Resistance title, or even if it were exclusive. I don't even think it will have anything at all to do with the games inherent quality. After all it looks like a Borderlands/Dead Island clone, and that genre isn't even anywhere near saturation point. Those types of games are fairly popular right now.
No the problem is that the release date is going to be positively brutal on the title, and I sincerely hope that they see that, and decide to delay the title for another six months to a year. As it stands right now it is going to be up against titles like Dead Island Riptide, Bioshock Infinite, Tomb Raider, Grand Theft Auto, and Dead Space 3, and that is excluding high profile exclusives.
Even if it ends up with a meta rating of over ninety percent. It is going to be really hard for them to get noticed surrounded by both established, and storied franchises. Had this title been scheduled to arrive last fall, or even late last summer. Even the haters would have given it more of a benefit of the doubt, but the upcoming months are just so slammed with goodness. That if it isn't delayed, or other highly anticipated titles aren't delayed. It is just going to go unnoticed.
I just have one more thing to add. The double standards on these forums are getting a tad bit obnoxious. There is a point when hypocrisy moves from being humorous to outright obscene. Many of you have probably argued that the Vita deserves more time before it can be judged, and get cross with people who suggest otherwise. That point of view might have some merit, but you discredit yourself, and the argument that you are making. When you are equally willing to judge a game as terribly flawed three months before it launches.
It isn't just that you are inconsistent, but that you are being painfully disingenuous with everyone else on these forums. Would any of you like to be treated with the same discourtesy that you are showing to this developer. Brand loyalty and your own hurt feelings aren't substitutions for reasoning. You can hold a grudge against them if you like, but don't paint it like you are giving them a fair shake in the first place.
There is something seriously wrong with the Sony fans on these forums. Bungie leaves Microsoft, and the Microsoft fans are still interested in their games, and still think they are a good studio even if they aren't exclusive anymore. Nintendo fans still praised Factor 5 after it started development of a PS3 exclusive title. Yet here we are with Sony fans shitting on Insomniacs first game for multiple platforms. Come on folks you have to be better then this.
