Is that your guess or do you have a source for that? Last I read, and it was a long time ago, Insomniac said they intended to continue their relationship with Sony even while making multi-platform games. The implication seemed to be that they'd still develop Sony exclusives now and then. Could just be lip service, of course. Only time will tell.
On topic, I think Resistance has a lot of potential, but it might be best for Sony to let it go in favor of a new FPS property. Misteps were made both by Sony and Insomniac that kind of killed any momentum going forward. As far as R&C, I'm betting that the series has sold a lot more downloadable copies than a lot of other games. I don't think raw retail numbers do it justice.
