| Vinniegambini said: Those are great launch numbers. There may be a 10% margin of error but nonetheless, great sales for a just released console. Nintendo has smartly learned from the 3DS fiasco. Nintendo is holding much of its cards close to their chest as stated by Iwata during the Investor's conference meeting in Q1. Regardless, I may be over-thinking it, but I feel as though the announcement of Pokemon coming up soon is no coincidence. It will most likely be a new 3DS generation with a Wii U game that compliments it much like Monster Hunter 3G. |
I'm not sure what Nintendo is going to do, but I'm fairly certain they have a strategy that plays to their strenghts for 2013 ...
Zelda, Mario, Mario Kart, Wii Fit, Smash Bros, Wii Sports, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Party, Wii Play, Brain Training, and Animal Crossing have all been huge series for Nintendo and it is likely that we will see many new titles in some of these series in 2013; and it is likely that Nintendo will also have some titles that could be their next break-out hit in 2013.
People don't seem to understand that Nintendo had 15 games that passed 5 million sales on the Wii that are spread out across a varitey of series, while Microsoft had 10 (4 Halo, 3 Gears of War, 2 Kinect, and Forza) and Sony had 4 (2 Uncharted, Gran Turismo and Little Big Planet), which means Nintendo can release several games a year that are as big as the biggest games from Sony or Microsoft without releasing yearly installments of any game.
