The system is doing fine, the only thing you can really grab from its launch is that nintendo have failed to have a juggernaut of a launch where its like "you must have this system!".
In Japan its doing amazing, in north america its doing ok (similar to the ps3/360 at their launch) and in europe its, ermm... well, its being outsold by the Vita on a weekly basis 0_o
To be honest, this is to be expected. I Genuinely believe that there is almost no reason to own a Wii U at the moment. The technology isn't blow your mind amazing (neither the graphics or the control), the price isn't extremely cheap, there are no killer apps right now and there don't appear to be any in the near future; so for it to be selling at the rate it is, is definitely a good sign. I imagine sales will explode the minute Mario kart/3D Mario/ Beyonetta 2/SSMB/ Zelda/ Metroid + a few next gen ports are shown running on the system.
