I'm going to be stern when I say this because all these doom threads are complete BS.
Why do you people care so much for the loss of competition? Competition in business is good; it has always been good for the consumer; it may suck for software developers, but no one ever said making success would be easy.
I really hope that some good third party developer picks up Nintendo's new console and makes it shine. (Like what Naughty Dog did for the PS3) I don't think Nintendo is stupid enough to make something so technologically crippled that it cannot produce good high definition content. It may not compete with the next generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft in terms of graphics, but will this matter? NO, if good content is produced.
