Halo 3 seemed to match the legs of GT5 even with a higher opening.

Halo 3 had the luxury of being released early on in the 360s life. Halo 4 has potentially 1 Year until a new generation of Xbox. I think it will severely cut the potential legs of Halo 4.

The legs of Halo depend on the legs of the Xbox 360 and perhaps even the Xbox Next if the game is forwards compatible. New console purchasers associate the game with the system like they do with GT and to a greater extent Mario with Nintendo. In any case big games like Halo/Call of duty invariably have legs as new console purchasers buy them regardless of how many existing fans get them.
