@VGKing I think the idea of launching WiiU one year ago is a pretty valid one. I think the whole motion+ initiative was a bit of a debacle, though Sports Resort obviously sold well. But if Skyward Sword had been built from the ground up for WiiU and NintendoLand launched with it last year, even at a slightly higher price and in lesser quantities it might have been a good idea. Super Mario Bros. U could have then followed it up this year with Pikmin which was intentionally delayed, and the 3rd party titles would have launched simultaniously with other platforms. I agree that over the last two years quite a few Wii owners have picked up 360's or PS3's and Nintendo could have somewhat prevented that.
That said, on a larger scale launching last year could have been a disaster. The extra cost of the system and the high yen could have been major trouble. As it stands Nintendo may have timed things perfect, with the launch of WiiU matching the falling yen and generating maximum profit, and they still get a year's head start on the competition. Time will tell if Nintendo lost too much good will in the year that Wii was basically a corpse.
