What end?
I don`t think M$ wil stop producing x360 and stop selling it.
So, for next 2-3 years, it will be here. It wil have games, maybe it won`t have many great games, but still you can use it as a gaming machine(unless it will brake.. =)) ).
x360 wasn`t made for winning, it was made for gaming/(rrod.. =))) ).
x360 TARGET was to expand M$ consoel userbase. And it`s going to pass 1st xbox numbers, that for sure.
Maybe even this year, so in 3 years, instead of 4.
2008 - 24-25 mln.
2009 - 32-33 mln.
If x720 won`t be released by the end of 2009, then:
2010 - 40-42 mln.
And total 45-48 mln. probably vs 24 mln. =)

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.
1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.
PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
