The answer to that for this thread has to do with biology, genetics and psychology.
Happens with movies, games, women etc. etc.

My friend the other day saw a woman with the "nicest ass." I told him i'm not the "ass" type of guy. I am more into legs of a women. He's like, "WHAT? How can that even be?"
**Back on topic. I love Majoras mask more than Ocarina.
The ending of Majoras mask was definitely ahead of its time. It delivered a message without any kind of voice acting.
