I don't think the slow OS is because of lack of processing power or slow memory ...

My guess (at the moment) is that Nintendo requires all apps to be digitally signed with a massive key to protect against piracy, and to decrypt these apps is taking a really long time. I don't have any proof of this, but I suspect that Nintendo had to create their own custom variation of an encryption scheme that supports 2048 or 4096 bit encryption, and their decryption algorithm isn't that highly optimized atm.

I don't either.I think its just an optimization issue.
