I agree, the WiiU ads (specifically in the US) are pretty bad. Visually, they work; I like the initial idea (the set, colors, etc), but the end result just misses the mark.
Nintendo really needs to step up their ad game in general. For example, during The Walking Dead, I lost count of how many times I saw Resident Evil 6 commercials... with the 360 logo at the end, meaning that Microsoft footed the bill. Where in the hell was Nintendo's funding of a ZombiU commercial during TWD? Such a missed opportunity.
