I'm torn over Skyward Sword. It certainly had the potential to be the very best Zelda game, but it took a few wrong turns along the way.
The art direction, music, and motion controls are are excellent. In fact the motion controls are the best I've ever used -- they really deliver on the promise Nintendo made in 2006 when Wii launched.
But I got the sense throughout the game that the developers were a little confused about which Zelda traditions to keep and which to discard. And the result is a game that's a little awkward: huge but linear, complicated mechanically but simple visually, etc.
