I know a woman who came from (one of) the lowest castes in India, from a family that didn't have adequate shelter and regularly went without food, and is now a well educated software developer, earns a good living, and is supporting her family back home. The challenges she faced, and her parents faced, are unimaginable and make the "trials" of the poor in western developed nations laughable.

Yea and how many of the hundreds that come over do that? Not many. Sometimes its who you know, not what you know. You seem to think this just happens all the time. Not true and upward mobility has become way harder than in the past. Basically you need luck and immigrants get more free grants. This sounds like your full it, You don't even know this person. This was a right wing story you decided to repost from another right wing thread. I see these post all the time. Unless you have family backing, it is almost impossible. Most in the medical field come out with around 500,000 - 600,000 dollars in debt. Oh yea the usual, people are just lazy. Not that there is a major lack of good paying jobs. You are full of it.

your the same guy that wants less pay, less insurance, less everything for the worker. In the 80's we subsidies 80% of college, we now only subsidize 20%. You figure it out and back than college was not needed to be wealthy.
