Japanese developers have never resisted nintendo. Capcom, sega and namco have been among their best supporters. Square are backstabbers and out to make a quick buck so now they will be kissing nintendo's backside like nothing ever happened.

As for the straight right port I think it is nintendo blocking it being announced. Straight right wanted it announced by the end of this year.

Well the reason why Square split from Nintendo was because of the whole N64 debacle.  It wasn't until GBA that the tensions between the two finally subsided.

 

Come to think of it, yes, we SHOULD be hearing about what Nintendo and its publishers have in store for 2013; the January slot, so far, looks quite barren, although I really don't expect it to stay that way.
