I know I'm late answering but got to say SMB3 is the best by far for me.

I preferred the raccoon suit to the cape and thought the level design was just marginally superior to SMW (which I also love).

SMB3>SMW>SMB1>the rest.

Too much planning, and you'll never get anything done.
