Do you have a Wii? If yes, there is a much simpler solution by using a softmod. I know giving links to certain websites is not allowed here, so PM me if you need any instructions.

EDIT: Those (LG-8164b or LG-8163b or LG-8162b or LG-8161b) DVD drives do all work

Yeah I have a Wii but the console is packed up since I got my Wii U and I plan to give it away in early january. But thanks for the Information regarding DVD drives.
