It's selling poorly, which is a shame for such a nifty system. The price is too high and the games just aren't there, I guess.

And they aren't there. You can argue as much as you like (and the comments would suggest people are), and some good points are raised. But it doesn't matter because the average consumer, or 99% of the audience, will not care about when the system was released, they want the library now. It is unfair, yes, but I see few system sellers in the foreseeable future. And that will be the problem. A number of niche games or moderate hits won't sell the system, and isn't that the point?
