I think that the Wii U is doing quite well despite there being two other consoles on the market full of great, CHEAP games. I'm sure that it will dominate in Japan because Nintendo actually releases good games out there and Europe should be fine after Nintendo fixes the online M rated content block in the eShop. After the holidays roll on by things should start stabilizing as well, and we'll start seeing if Nintendo will keep its current momentum. Games like Rayman, Bayonetta, Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, and Wonderful 101, should really help push systems after the holidays. Nintendo just needs to focus on future third-party games and announce some nice exclusives before or by e3. I honestly think that it was a smart move in delaying some of these titles and spreading them accross month by month, it helps keep things freash...
