I agree with you here but you are completely wrong saying they haven't learned from 3ds. Launching new ips with a console is asking for failure. With any console launch it is better to give your core fanbase what they want to get it off the ground. That is why mario was the best approach. Launching this mario game means they can give the real 3d one more time rather then rushing it. And it isn't sending pikmin 3 (which would only appeal to the gamecube fans) out to die either.

Everything else is balanced out greatly. For games like assassin's creed or mass effect, you don't know unless you try. But this is a big big improvement over 3ds.
