Wtf!? I've played on the TV using the pad as the controller and I've played on the controller with no TV at all and I've never had a problem! Also, since the Wii U controller is getting its image from the console that's connected to the TV, you'd expect the controller image to lag, not the TV!
You TV settings, perhaps?

Could be. Any idea what it is? The TV is on default settings so I don't really know. I'm using the Nintendo packed in HDMI but I doubt that's what's wrong.
Edit: Just found this video, apparently my issue is normal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jJUNQcOmFA, it's just supposed to be like that. I'm guessing NSMB is the only game that does this. That's really weird for the latency to be better on the pad. I got worried my unit was faulty for a second there.
