The only reason Microsoft has the edge on Sony now is because they released a year early. Also the PS3 has been selling more than the 360 ever since they were both launched so it seems logical to me that if they launched at the same time then Sony would win. Not to mention the complete failure Microsoft had with the launch of the 360 with RROD which was due to the pressure of wanting to release before Sony. Sony is in a posiition to have bigger launch title games (first party) since Microsoft just released their biggest gaming franchise recently (Halo) and I highly doubt that another game will be ready for next gen. Also Gears of war, their second biggest franchise, is having a new game released in 2013 and if the next gen consoles are released in 2013, I just don't see there being 2 Gears games in the same year. Sony on the other hand is in the perfect position seeing as most of their big franchises have already been released for some time. Killzone, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, New SSM project etc. Then we have Nintendo who I highly doubt will repeat the success of the Wii, but this does not mean that the Wii U will not be successful.
