I am constantly seeing people say, " You know that Nintendo systems do not get 3rd party support, so why you mad?" Or I see," That is what you get for only owning one system", and " You buy Nintendo systems for Nintendo 1st party games."

So I guess I am the only one that cares that Nintendo has to beg like a dog to get support? Or are these people just trolls or Console fan boys who say this sort of stuff to me?

They may be trolls or fanboys, but their comments aren't untrue.

The issue is threefold with Nintendo.

Firstly their exclusives are niche. Games sell consoles and the issue with Nintendo is that many of their franchises are not considered core or mature games. As it is seen at the moment, "mature" games sell well, such as Call of Duty. Zelda on the other hand, from the outset, would seem to appeal to a younger audience. This therefore detracts publishers of releasing mature games on a console that sells due to non-mature games.

Secondly, Nintendo is not western. This means that both the games that are exlcusives appeal mainly to a smaller, foreign audience. Also it may create issues when creating contracts. Fortune had a good article on it stating how Western and Japanese buisnesses settle contracts is very different.

Thirdly, the Wii sealed their fate. With the Wii being a casual console, this means that devs didn't bother with it (as well as limited hardware); they just went for the 360 and PS3. Therefore with the devs focusing on two consoles, that is where the devs customers will be. With the Wii U offering the same power as the existing consoles, devs have no incentive to make Wii U games as core gamers are already found on the 360 & PS3. If the Wii had offered many core games, then the spread of core gamers would be wider which would make developing for the Wii U more attractive as there would be core gamers on the Wii looking to upgrade. As it stands, the Wii U isn't offering an upgrade from the PS3 or 360 for core gamers.

From the lack of support for the Wii U, and the abysmal adverts that don't push it as a new system, it may end up going the way of the GC.

And the one to do with a whole 42 Madden players will once again make devs feel that the Wii U is not a console for core gamers. That plus the wiiu not being as "in" as the wii paints a very grim picture for it.
