Tell me then why are people thinking:

A higher installbase =>Games will sell more than a lower install base..

 

No - that's the re-release - I mean this one (50k sales) - launched about a year later from the looks of it:

... I think it didn't come out when DMC3 did though - so it shouldn't be included in the overall sales.

Re: install base - do some research. You look at the big games, and tell me which of them sold MORE on a larger install base - than the prequel, that was launched on a smaller install base?

GT3 > GT4

EG3 > EG4

FFX > FXII

DMC > DMC2 > DMC3

MGS2 > MGS3

Mario Party games, etc...

...

All the evidence says that (in general) sequels sell less than prequels - even though the install base is much higher.
