well yes you would be worried,i remember the PSP had a must have buzz early on,if the vita does half the PSP it will have done well but thats not good enough for all concerned
i keep getting told the end is nigh for dedicated handheld so i'm assuming this is sony last handheld machine,they'll probably merge with a phone in the future if they stay with it and you are connected to PSN
unless a sony handheld is going to be dirt cheap what is the future against the pad/smart market
